I have gotten into the habit of tagging links I see in Google Reader with different tags depending on what blog I want to mention them on and/or what they are about. This is good.
I tag way too many links on every subject (including "TOREAD"). This is not good.
As I try and clean out some of the backlog and force myself to write posts about the things I wanted to write about weeks ago ... here are a few of my latest tags:
- New and very interesting use for Google Earth? - Steve Fossett is a local celebrity b/c of his numerous attempts to circle the globe starting from St. Louis. I had never heard about how Amazon had tried to help with Jim Gray's disapearence, but this seems like a great idea. Now, not only can your idle CPU time help fight diseases, but your idle time could help the greater good .... without putting pants on or leaving your house!
- There goes the neighborhood! - This would be a great project to try, but given its little practical utility and costs I will save it from joining my countless other unfinished projects. Could be fun though .... finally figure out what those apartment neighbors near us are arguing about ;-)
- Who needs to look out toward the heavens to find a black hole? Evidently, we have them right here on earth.
- A better idea may be to just not delete important files, or keep backup of them, or whatever ... but this is still kinda cool.
- Nothing will ever beat the imfamous Lang-isms, but some of these are good too.
